Fall is in the air and it is time to winterize your St. Augustine Grass. The most important step for you to do is fertilize your lawn. Check with your local professional for which fertilizer to use or give us a call. Below are steps for you to follow to get your lawn ready for winter. You can skip steps 2 & 3 if you have not had the problems in the past / present.
Follow these steps and your lawn will be ready to go come Spring.
- Fertilize St. Augustine Grass.
- Treat lawn with fungicides (if you don't have any fungus problems, skip this step).
- Treat lawn with insecticides (again, skip this step if you do not have any insects)
- Mowing and watering: With cooler temperatures on the way, it is recommended to set your lawn mower an extra notch up. This will encourage deeper root growth for winter. You will not need to water your lawn as much in cooler temperatures. Too much watering will lead to fungus problems in the Spring.
Follow these steps and your lawn will be ready to go come Spring.
